Why hello. Yes, I did fall off the face of the Earth, thanks for asking.
I’m famous for letting my perfectionism get the best of me and I have so many ideas for my little corner of the internet bubbling around all the time that I literally became paralyzed and didn’t do any of them. Until last month.
I did however, eat lots of pizza, kiss my husband, become ridiculously obsessed with Bachelor in Paradise (whyyyy?!?), attend a million weddings, dance like a fool at all of said weddings and manage to hold down my full time job. So I feel like I’m winning at life. Well, maybe losing at blogging but winning at pizza. I’ll take it.
One of the biggest changes I’ve been dying to make was moving from Blogger to self-hosted Wordpress. Holy big change if you’re not a developer Batman! And I’m not. But I did. I have a big project in the works that I can’t wait to share with you, but it was necessary to make the switch. Phew, glad that’s over!
And so far it seems like I didn’t break the internet. Let me know if you find any broken links and I’ll likely watch 312 YouTube videos before figuring out how to fix them, but I’ll do it!
These days I’m channelling Lara‘s delightful mantra, “done is better than perfect.” So here’s my new site. It’s up. It’s not perfect and I’m gonna keep updating and changing it. Because I that’s life. One day of growing at a time.
Moving on… So many things have happened in the past month and past year and I never give myself credit for any of my accomplishments, big or small. I feel like each task sits on my to-do list and I loathe it, and then once it’s done I don’t have an ‘I did this thing’ party – instead I feel like I didn’t do enough / could have done more. Anyone else feel me on this?
Starting this month, I’m gonna at least have the party to celebrate taking action. So here’s my list of September goals and we’ll see where it takes me. Thank you to Shay, Victoria, Emily and Lisa for the inspiration!
-Celebrate my one year wedding anniversary with Josh
-Deepen my daily prayer
-Cultivate a positive relationship with exercise
-Get at least 2 content pieces ready for my big project
-Make a video
-Review our annual credit reports together
-Schedule my annual physical / check-up
-Start to tell our wedding story
I have a lot more. Always have, always will. But this looks like a really nice place to start.
What are you working on this month? I’d love to hear!
